The Queen of All Sciences

What
if I were to ask you, “What is
the most influential profession
in America?”
As you think about this,
I want to emphasize influential
and ask you to resist
bringing the most powerful into
the equation. When I think of
the most powerful, I think of
those within the fields of
business, finance, political,
media and others.
My intention is to show
that the most powerful use the
“Queen of all sciences” to
align with their goals. I will
later show how I feel about
this. I
had first heard the term
“Queen of all sciences”
during Bible college. A few of
my professors mentioned this
term probably 4-5 times prior to
graduation.
These instructors thought
so highly of the potential of
the Christian message to change
the world that they crowned
Theology as the “Queen of all
Sciences”! Yes, this was quite
a boast, but their intention was
to emphasize to aspiring
ministerial students the
importance of the Christian
message and to use this to
influence the world with the
“gospel message of truth”.
Enthusiasm
sells and sermons delivered with
zeal and confidence have clearly
made their mark upon the world!
The ability to motivate
people and the power of
persuasion are essential in most
any endeavor desiring growth!
Christians affectionately call
this evangelism while others
might call this brainwashing!
Aside from our opinions,
you would have to note the
powerful influence and
pervasiveness of religion around
the world, especially within
American society. What
is the “Queen of all
sciences”?
This question would
certainly gender some debate, or
might just prove to be so
illusive that the only way to
render a decision would be by
taking a poll or voting!
If one were to answer
“a doctor”, you could
counter that a doctor can save
your life and alleviate pain,
but most likely your doctor
wouldn’t tell you how to
personally arrange non-health
related priorities, choices, or
who you should associate with in
life. Consideration
of this question tells me that
this “queen” will have
attained a high level of trust
and will be consulted with, on
average, much more frequently
than a doctor would be called
for. Whoever it is that does
these things will likely have
the most influence upon mankind
and be on the short list of
candidates to win the prize of
the “Queen of all sciences”. The
Queen in America is… When
I look at America and ask what
body of people or what
profession is the most pervasive
in society, the answer is clear!
The churches are the most
pervasive and the clergy are
clearly the most influential
profession within the country!
So when you look at the
question from this fashion, I
would have to agree with my
professors that Theology truly
is, the “Queen of all
sciences”. Using
the word science here is a
“buzzword”. Christians also
try to legitimatize the
intelligent design folly by
calling it a science as well!
Who knows what they will think
of next?
Now before I lose the ear
of rational people due to the
title, let me emphatically state
that theology and science have
nothing in common with each
other!
Theology/Religion
will continue to reign atop of
the social sciences’ ladder
due to the need of the powerful
to retain a most influential
ally. Power and control are the
perpetuating forces behind
religion.
This isn’t a new
revelation, for others
throughout history have written
upon the same subject matter.
Yet, the more things change, the
more that some things stay the
same!
What is important to the
powerful is that they remain in
a controlling position.
America is a fine example
of how this scenario plays it
self out with the usage of
religion. The
Queen isn’t omnipresent:
Getting there without religion Now
the powerful can also remain in
control without the usage of
religion, just look at
totalitarian regimes’ and
their fruit.
Take Soviet Russia (USSR)
for example. They came into
Latvia and imposed their will
and religion was virtually
absent from the country for
approximately 50 years. The
legacy left behind isn’t a
pleasant experience for those
that have tasted a more humane
way of life!
Aside from the economic
impact, let me tell you from
first hand experience that by in
large human kindness,
compassion, fidelity, and the
brotherhood of man is found in
noticeable lesser quantities
here (when compared to the USA
or say Germany where I had lived
for 1 ˝ years). Latvia has been
able to chart it’s own course
since regaining it’s
sovereignty back in 1991 (18
years ago), the problem is
finding statesmen type of
leaders whom place the priority
of the common good before
personal ambitions. What
Christianity lacks on the
intellectual side, it redeems
itself “somewhat” when it
molds individuals with quality
character.
It is hard to understand
this, unless you have lived
considerable amounts of time in
differing or contrasting
societies.
I am stating this here so
that those that “are so
annoyed” by having to live
around “all of those
Christians” can see that the
usage of religion might not be
as bad as you sense it to be!
Things could be worse! When
I look elsewhere around the
world, I have grown to highly
esteem our Anglo way of life!
When I look at Russia, I see a
country that would shut off the
gas supply in the midst of
winter to a segment of
Europe/Asia that is dependent
upon them for heating! Not only
is this cold…IT IS COLD
BLOODED! I have had several
conversations with an old
Chinese friend that told me of
the Chinese way of life. Human
dignity and the value of life
aren’t as esteemed in China as
it is in America (this isn’t
my opinion, but from an Chinese
individual that immigrated to
the US). Has anyone forgotten
the forced abortions or the
Tiananmen Square Massacre? When
I look at those Islamic
countries, how humane is it to
execute a young girl for being
the victim of a rape?
Anglo
Leadership in the world America
has many problems beyond the
financial crisis. Personally, I
hope that we have just finished
our eight-year detour from
traditional American values!
Time will tell under the
Obama Administration’s
leadership. Living outside of my
homeland, it isn’t nice to be
viewed as the “ugly
American”.
Despite our problems, I
cherish our Anglo way of life
and strongly concur with it
holding a leadership role around
the world.
I see religion being used
as a means to help retain our
leadership, this I can live with
despite what this site desires
and proclaims about religion!
I hope that others might
grasp this truth as well!
Contrary to popular opinion,
this financial crisis doesn’t
diminish Anglo leadership, for
the powerful are only getting
stronger in these times of
crises. Theology/Religion
will remain the “Queen of all
sciences” because politically
speaking, “politics is
religion, and religion is
politics”.
We can rightfully
struggle to keep church and
state separate, but the king
(power) and the queen (religion)
will do whatever they deem
necessary to achieve their
goals. Religion is very
convenient and the queen’s
methods are less bloody than the
king’s!
Totalitarian regimes are
much more prone to revolution
and unrest. If
I had to choose between the
king’s society (power or
totalitarian) or the queen’s
(religion and “freedom”),
the choice is easy and you learn
to live with the inconveniences
of a religious society.
Folks this is the reality
of the world that we live in,
with a few exceptions to the
fore mentioned model. Is
there a conspiracy of evil? Some
might want to proclaim
conspiracy here, but I see this
not as a conspiracy, but the
elite/powerful using the best
means to keep the peace and
maintain control. Order needs to
be kept for society to function
properly. I think that many
things happen “behind the
scenes” in order to keep
things running “properly”.
Most conspiracy thinking has a
mental concept of “evil”
behind it along with God’s
enemy Satan being the one that
is “pulling the strings.” The
last paragraph refers to the
overall conspiracy that many see
transpiring today around the
world. Yes there are an untold
number of criminal conspiracies,
organized crime units, etc. that
are operational today, only a
fool denies this.
Certainly, I am for law
and order and wish that criminal
activities come to light and
those participating are brought
to justice. We
do not live in an egalitarian
world, but an elitist one where
the “gold rule” applies (he
that has the gold makes the
rules).
I think that the sooner
that this is understood by
society, the sooner society can
focus and get to work upon what
it is that makes society a
better place for all on earth to
dwell in. Supernatural belief
should be one of the first
dominoes to fall! Conspiracy
and the downfall of man I
have an ex-brother in law that
was so strong into conspiracy
thinking that he stopped paying
taxes in protest, as a matter of
conscious. He didn’t want his
tax dollar being spent upon such
things as funding abortions.
This resulted in his
incarceration, which negatively
impacted his family and helped
to expedite the loss of his
marriage. Conspiracy thinking is
easier for some folks than
getting their heads on straight
and working constructively with
reasonable people towards
solutions. Perhaps
conspiracy thinking originated
in the Bible, you know Satan
rebelling against God with his
expulsion from heaven following.
It is a great story if it were
true! Many folks are convinced
and give the best of their lives
to fight this “evil”
conspiracy and society suffers
for their misperceptions! These
same folks could use their
energies to build humanity
rather than fight the ‘evil”
conspiracy with the only life
that they are going to have! I
haven’t denied that mankind
does many corrupt things; the
laundry list would be a long
one! Yes, I get downright upset
with all the injustice that we
notice in the world. But hatred
of religion, of the conspiracy,
of the elite doesn’t
accomplish much but to feed
one’s anger and to rob one of
the personal energy that it
takes to get our own lives in
order. Many want to “save”
others, but one first needs to
get their heads on straight with
rational thinking. I
anticipate someone asking me,
“If you are OK with this, then
why do I operate my website?”
Although I don’t care for
religion,
I can tolerate it. I
would answer this hypothetical
question by stating that first
this is only my “theory”
about the way things work and
that I would prefer to build a
secular humanist society because
it would be a better alternative
to the current model. Second,
if I thought that “the
conspiracy was evil”, then I
would not spit into the face of
the elite by challenging their
“queen”.
Now, if my family or I
should meet a sudden demise,
then you would know that I was
wrong in my assessment
(laughs…I have been serious
for quite some time and needed
to lighten up some)!
So should you! The
Messiah isn’t coming There
are so many bad ideas and
damaging beliefs that can sour
our lives.
I don’t think religion
brings peace or the Messiah for
that matter! That is why I am an
ex-minister! I think that we
should question most things in
life, which is why I am
skeptical. I have yet to hear
anyone address “the queen of
all sciences” and think that
it was about time that someone
did! Somehow, someway those on both sides of the various religious questions need to find a way to work together for the common good! . I believe that we share many common desires as a society and feel that we can achieve these goals more quickly by finding a way to work together! The real obstacle behind the satisfaction of this endeavor would be: “who gets the credit for the accomplishments?” The answer would be the one that shows up to do the work because “invisible friends” do not count! There is work to be done! Brian
